Book Mail & Big Feels: Austin Channing Brown's New Release

Book Mail & Big Feels: Austin Channing Brown's New Release

There's nothing quite like the joy of book mail, especially when it's from an author who has shifted the way you see the world. For me, Austin Channing Brown is one of those voices. If you've followed me for a while, you already know how much I recommend her book, I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness. It's not just another book I've read and shelved. It's one I carry in my heart, one I find myself bringing up in conversations, one I believe should be required reading for everybody. The way Austin weaves personal experience, cultural truth, and unshakable dignity is nothing short of transformative.

So when I heard she was releasing a new book, there was no hesitation on my part. The moment preorders went live, I knew it was going straight in my cart. And now, IT'S HERE! Holding her work in my hands again feels like both a continuation of a powerful conversation and the beginning of something new.

What I love about Austin Channing Brown is that she doesn't just write books; she also speaks and advocates for social justice. She gives us language for things we have felt but couldn't quite put into words. She calls us to courage, to empathy, and to action, all while reminding us of the beauty and resilience in our communities. That's rare, and that's why she is THAT girl in my bookish world.

I can't wait to dive into her latest words, underline passages, and let them sit with me. Books like this aren't just something you read; they're something you wrestle with, return to, and share with others.

If you've read I'm Still Here, you already know the impact her work can have. And if you haven't, let this be your sign to pick it up. Then, let's read this new one together and keep building those conversations.

Drop me a note if you're planning to grab a copy. I'd love to know who's reading along with me. Let's about it, process it, and celebrate the gift of powerful storytelling that challenges us and changes us.

Because some books are simply too important to keep to yourself, and Austin's work will always be one of them.
